The 2015-2016 season in Midget for NSDMHA was a successful one. We iced one AA, one A, and one Metro team.

Our AA team coached by Timmy Vickers, had a good year. They were competitive in League play and won the New Waterford Tournament in December. Our A team coached by Richard Hannem, was competitive in league play and finished third in League Playoffs.

Our metro team coached by Lloyd MacLeod had a challenging year. A very poor attendance at practices and games resulted in team struggling to compete in Metro League. This combined with their only goalie quitting at beginning of playoffs, resulted in a shortened season. This was very unfortunate, as I know Lloyd put a lot of time and dedication into the team, and this did not seem to be reciprocated by most players.

I know from past experience that coaching a Midget team will have many challenges throughout the season. I would like to personally thank our Midget coaches, who volunteer their time to ensure the player’s become better hockey players and better individuals off the ice.
