Equipment Report - 2015-2016

Equipment 2015 – 2016

Eleven teams were outfitted with Vikings jerseys this season.  Not counted this year, again, is our Atom C team.  The Atom C teams are part of the AtoMc program sponsored by Mcdonalds.  The AtoMc program provides jerseys, socks, coaching material, toques, towels, etc.  The jerseys are crested with the Vikings crest but are the players to keep at the end of the season; these jerseys are not owned by NSDMH.

A new set of Atom (rep) jerseys were purchased this year.  I will be checking each set of jerseys before next season and make recommendations.  Currently most of our sets are in good to fair condition.  Any orders for jerseys next season will depend on the number of teams in each division.  All returned jerseys came in with name bars removed and mostly in the same condition as when issued.  Joella Pye, the seamstress who repairs our items, has made any needed repairs while she had jerseys for name bar removal.  .  There have been no jerseys damaged (not fixable) due to anything other than normal wear and tear.   There has been little issue with unreturned individual jerseys this year.  One player’s jerseys have managed to leave the rink with that player and are not yet returned.  Any player with unreturned jerseys must do so before they can register next season.  As of submitting this report I am still awaiting the return of 1 set of jerseys.  In keeping with the policy of NSDMH, please remember, jerseys are NOT to be given to players to keep for the season.

Each team was given pucks and a first aid kit this year.  We purchased 6 new jersey bags this year to add to or replace existing inventory.  Regular pucks were purchased at the start of the season for all teams, with blue (lighter) pucks for novice and white pucks for goalie development, also purchased.  Our pinnies were restocked with an order to replace any missing ones.  An additional set of smaller pinnies was purchased for use in the Novice division; this set could also be used with Atom players.  Four large sized coaching aid boards were bought and are to be installed (2 per rink) in dressing rooms.

Many coaches request pylons and pinnies for practice; however the return rate on additional practice aids is very low and affects our ability to supply them.  The supply of pylons and other equipment depends on the cost associated with unreturned items.  Unfortunately it has shown to be difficult to collect the additional equipment items back from the teams.

Thank You

Sheri Campbell, Equipment Manager.
