Midget Report 2020-2021

Hello everyone. Here is my report for the 2020-2021 season for the U18 division. In this division we had one team which was designated as an A team. This team had personnel number problems which limited the team's ability to remain competitive for an entire game.

 

As the year progressed in conversation with Hockey Nova Scotia Regional Director Guy Reid we were able to utilize some affiliated players from the Bantam division. This certainly improved the A teams ability to ice a larger roster and compete for a full game.

 

I would like to thank Glen McGean as Head Coach, Mike Black and Carl Swan as Assistant Coaches and Shawn Reashore as Trainer. Congratulations to Shawn for being named Trainer of the Year for the association. 

 

This year was a new experience in that Covid Health Protocols were put in place through a Hockey Nova Scotia Rebound Plan and Department of Health requirements. We were fortunate enough to have Bev Swan as the U18 team safety representative who kept all players/parents and guardians advised of rink expectations.

 

A thank you to all those that assisted Bev in access control. Thanks to team manager Natalie McGean for her work during this unique opportunity.

 

It is hoped that all players made the most of this challenging season and all returning players continue to play hockey. Good luck everyone and thank you players.
