TOURNAMENT RULES

  1. All Tournament games will be governed by N.S.M.H.C. Rules.
  2. Referees decision is final.  No protests will be heard by tournament organizers.
  3. All round robin and playoff games will be three-15 minute periods at non-stop clock time. Ice will be re- surfaced after every game. The championship game will consist of three 15 minute nonstop clock periods. Teams should ready to start their game up to 20 minutes before scheduled time.
  4. During the round robin portion of the Tournament, each team will receive two (2) points for a win, one (1) point for a tie, and zero (0) points for a loss. Any round robin games that end in a tie shall remain at tie and each team will be awarded one point in the standings.
    Any tied games in a playoff or championship games shall go into overtime.

    If a Playoff or Championship Game is tied at the end of regulation time, the following tie breaking format will be used:
    1. 3 minutes  time, 4 vs 4, sudden death.
    2. 3 minutes  time, 3 vs 3, sudden death
    3. until winner is decided, 2 vs 2
  5. In both the consolation and championship the number of players will be reduced at the first stoppage of play after the appropriate time has elapsed.
  6. The top four teams after the round robin portion of the tournament shall advance to the crossover games.  Teams finishing 1st and 4th will play in crossover game #1; teams finishing 2nd and 3rd will play in crossover game #2.  The winners shall compete in the championship game. 
  7. Ties for a position in the standings shall be broken as follows:
    • Winner of the game between the tie teams, if applicable
    • Team with the most wins.
    • Team with the highest goal ratio (goals for divided by goals against).
    • Team with highest goal differential.(goals for minus goals against).
    • Team with the highest goals for.
    • Team with the fewest goals against.
    • Team with the fewest penalty minutes.
    • Winner of a coin toss.
    • The same format will be used for ties including more than two teams with each tie breaker being applied in the order they are listed until the appropriate ties have been broken.
  8. Penalties or suspensions for team officials or players shall be dealt with in accordance with N.S.M.H.C. rules.
  9. Any forfeit games during the tournament shall constitute a 5-0 score.
